Tecumseh Fitch elected to National Academy of Sciences

The National Academy of Sciences has announced the election of 120 new members and 30 international members in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. Among this year’s honorees is Tecumseh Fitch, who was the only scientist from Austria elected in this round.

Tecumseh Fitch(Department of Behavioral & Cognitive Biology) is a cognitive biologist, with special interests in the evolution of language and music. He was previously the recipient of an ERC Advanced Grant and is an elected Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science.

The newly elected class brings the Academy’s total active membership to 2,662, with 556 international members.
