[in German]
Gregor Mendel visits the future in 2022! The "Father of Genetics" gives an insight into his everyday life as a researcher in the 19th century and reports on the efforts and setbacks in his education. He tells the exciting story of the discovery of his inheritance rules.
How would Mendel respond to the far-reaching significance of his work and his fame as the "father of genetics" in today's world? What would he think about modern genetic technologies? How would he interpret the role of science when it comes to jointly solving societal challenges together?
After the multimedia show, students will have the opportunity to meet Gregor Mendel "in person" and discuss current issues.
This event is part of the INTERREG V-A Austria-Czech Republic project: "GJ Mendel's Legacy for Science, Culture, and Humanity" (GJM200, ATCZ278, Interreg AT-CZ), co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
The show will premiere at the Long Night of Research and, amongst other activities, will be available as an activity for School classes. More information on the flyer below.
