Your ongoing dissertation project has the potential to generate social, economic or cultural impact? Win the Impact Award 2022 and spread the impact of your research project with a tailor-made video!

The Impact Award provides winners with visibility for their research.  As a prize, 8 PhD students of the University of Vienna will receive a tailor-made video production to present the impact of their research project. The selected projects receive targeted support in order to present their results to a broad public and to leverage the potential for exploitation - both economic and non-economic.

To prepare their submission, we offer all those interested in the Impact Award free participation in a workshop on the topic “Societal impact of my research and the UN Sustainable Development Goals”.

For all finalists there will be a storytelling workshop on May 16, 2022 to prepare for the final live pitch and the video.

The Impact Award 2022 of the University of Vienna is funded by the City of Vienna Cultural Affairs.

The application must be submitted online and consists of:

1. application form with personal information
2. abstract of the dissertation (upload as PDF)
3. CV incl. publication list, if applicable (upload as PDF)
4. video pitch (max. 2 minutes) in which the following questions are answered:
   i.   Who are you?
   ii.  What is your research about?
   iii. What kind of impact do you want your research project to achieve and how do you achieve it?
